Explore the first of 7 types of bridges

  1. Intro
    • All the bridges in the world can be broken down into 7 categories
    • Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at 4 of them: Beam, Truss, Arch, and Cantilever bridges
  2. Prompt
    • Definition of a Beam Bridge: a horizontal beam supported on both ends
    • Give students 5 minutes to build a simple beam bridge
    • Let students expand their bridges to make it bigger, more interesting, or appealing (10-30 minutes for this section)
    • Do a Gallery Walk to see everyone’s bridges
